Fredrick Stewart

Fred was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and spent most of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina. He passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on Monday, September 27th, 2021.

Fred was a veteran who earned his bachelor's degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, and his master's degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

Fred was predeceased by his mother Virginia Stewart, father Austin Stewart, brothers Aaron Stewart and Roland Stewart, sister Eleanor Stewart, and son Keith Benton. Fred is survived by his daughters Tameshia Brace (Colyn) and Tondra Hamilton (John), granddaughters Kia Benton, Eryn Brace, and Dana Brace, grandson Cassius Brace, siblings Brenda Stewart, Roger Stewart, and Felicia Stewart, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

There will be a private viewing for the family at Carolina's Mortuary (6300 E. Independence Blvd Suite C) from 8:00am - 9:30am on Thursday, October 7th, 2021.

The memorial service and repast will be held on Thursday, October 7th, 2021, at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden (6500 S New Hope Rd, Belmont, NC 28012). The service will begin at 11:00am.
