James Howard Tyner, 77, of Charlotte, NC went to be with Jesus after a long illness.
Jim was born in Raleigh, NC. He grew up in Chester, VA where he went to school, was in the boy scouts, Graduated from Smithdeal-Massey Business College, Richmond, VA and worked for Overnite Transportation. After several transfers within Overnite, he went into sales for Thurston Motor Lines in Nashville, TN. He became Terminal Manager and transferred to Fayetteville, TN. After a few years in Fayetteville, he was promoted and moved to Charlotte, NC as an Assistant to the Vice President of Operations and then became a Regional Vice President of Operations before retiring.
He was a member of the Mecklenburg Wildlife Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved being in the woods, surrounded by nature and spending time in prayer.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Barbara, a stepson, Marc Smith of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and pets, Molly and Muffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruth Tyner.
