June Schimpf Gotta

June Schimpf Gotta was born and raised in Du Quoin, IL to Agnes and Virgil Schimpf along with her younger brother Charlie and older sister Mary Ann.

She was very proud to be the first in her family to graduate college at Southern Illinois University. Using her education she found her way to Tampa, Florida for a job at a law firm. That was where she first met her husband Joseph Gotta. They moved to Charlotte, NC and raised two sons, Joe and Mike. She also worked for Weight Watchers and served many years with the Mecklenburg elections office.

She was a devoted wife and mother and eventually was able to reunite with her first son Michael who she had given up for adoption which seemed to be one of the greatest experiences in her later life.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00am January 30, 2025 at Saint John Newman Catholic Church 8451 Idlewild Road in Charlotte North Carolina 28227, (704)536-6520.
