Michael Oliver Hogan passed away on May 24, 2024 at the age of 75 in Charlotte, NC. He was born on October 26, 1948 in Danville, VA and was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Mike was known for his distinctive laugh and cherished spending time with loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Wanda Nabors, as well as his daughter Ashley Hogan Stathos and husband Sam along with grandchildren Ella Stathos and Costa Stathos, all of Myrtle Beach, SC as well as a stepson, Bernie Nabors, of Wilmington, NC. Other survivors include Patricia Johnson Hogan of Myrtle Beach, SC and his Uncle and Aunt, Thomas and Rosa Ann Chaney, of Kinston, NC. Mike was predeceased by his father, Henry Hampton Hogan, and mother, Mildred Chaney Collins Hogan.
Mike graduated from George Washington High School and Virginia Tech. He served in the US National Guard and had a successful career as the former CEO of Hogan Distributing Company in Danville, VA. Most recently, he worked at United Rentals in Charlotte, NC.
In his free time, Mike was an enthusiastic fan of college football, particularly the University of Georgia and Virginia Tech. He was also a dedicated NASCAR enthusiast, having also spent some time working at the NASCAR museum in Charlotte, NC.
A memorial service will be held on June 8 at 3pm at the neighborhood clubhouse at Southwood Condos located at 5811 Sharon Road; Charlotte, NC 28210.
