Sara Usery

Sara Grant Usery, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC.

Sara was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Rev. Jasper N. Grant and the late Phoebe Phillips Grant. Sara was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Melvin Grant, nephew Randy Grant and niece Robin Vanderlip.

Sara graduated from Lowell High School. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell, NC.

Sara is survived by her children Richard Usery and Pamela Usery McCarley; grandchildren Marcus Usery (Alexis) and Jordan Paxton; great-grandchildren Grant and Collins Usery; sister-in-law Joyce Grant and nephew Rodney Grant.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday February 8, 2020, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1101 North Main Street, Lowell, NC.  Dr. Mitch Evans and Pastor Ray Hardee will be officiating.
